Twinkled Seosuso

요즘 딸을 가진 이들을 칭할 때 종종 ‘딸바보’라는 수식어를 붙인다. 딸 앞에서 바보가 될 정도로 딸을 너무나도 사랑하는 아빠를 이르는 말이다.

본 프로젝트는 딸들을 위해 세컨드 하우스를 짓고 싶었던 건축주의 집이다. 첫 미팅 때 건축주가 했던 말에서 작업이 시작됐다. “반짝반짝 빛나는 집이었으면 좋겠어요” 이 말에 건축사의 의도도, 건축주의 걱정도 한꺼번에 정리되었다.

단순한 건축물의 볼륨은 기존 건축이 가지고 있던 박공지붕의 간결함을 더욱 빛나게 만들었다. 외부는 말 그대로 언제나 빛날 수 있는 재료인 골강판을 사용하기로 했다. 골강판의 경우 호불호가 나누어지다 보니, 제안하는 것도 결정하는 것도 고민이 있었지만, 기꺼이 도전해 보았다.

전체적 건물의 배치는 본동과 부속 동이 서로 직각으로 배치되고, 본동은 세컨드하우스의 사용성을 고려해 남향 배치와 큰 개구부를 두어 외부와의 시각적, 시간적 소통이 잘 이루어질 수 있게 디자인했다. 내부는 외부에서 느낄 수 없는 자작나무의 따뜻함과 은은함을 만들어 낸다.
외부에 둘러싸인 담장은 대지의 경계를 표현함과 동시에 내부에서 활동이나 외부 시선에 자유로울 수 있게 디자인했다. 큐 블록 사이사이에서 보이는 재료의 프레임은 자연을 그대로 담는다. 세 명의 딸들이 대지 내 잔디마당에서 자연을 느끼고 체험할 수 있는 외부공간을 만들고, 그 공간 안의 건축물 어디에서도 자녀들의 작은 움직임이나 행동을 관찰할 수 있게 창은 대지 중심의 외부 마당으로 열리게 된다.

이곳이 도심에서 느낄 수 없는 공간과 자연을 작게나마 느낄 수 있는 장소가 되길, 세 자매가 이 공간에서 서로에게 좋은 추억이 만들어지길 바란다.

Recently people who have daughters are referred to as ‘daughter idiots.’ This father who loves his daughter so much that he becomes a fool when it comes to their daughter.

This project is for the client who wanted to build a second home for his daughters.
The client suggested that a sentence during the first meeting.
“I’d like to have a gleaming house.”
All my worries were cleared away at once. These words reflect the architect’s intention and the architectural principles.

The volume of the simple building made the simplicity of the gable roof of the existing building shine even more. For the exterior, we decided to use corrugated steel that can always be gleaming. In the case of corrugated steel sheets that either like it or hate it. So suggestion and decision were difficult. Although I worried about the material, I was up for the challenge.

The overall layout of the building is such that the main building and auxiliary buildings are arranged at right angles to each other. The main building has a south-facing layout and a large fenestra, that considering its usability as a second house. It was designed to ensure good visual and temporal communication with the exterior space. The interior creates the warmth and softness of birch wood that cannot be felt from exterior space.
The fence surrounding the outside was designed to express the boundary of the land and at the same time allow for freedom of activity and external gaze inside. The frame of materials shown between cue blocks captures nature as it is. An external space is created where the daughters can experience nature on the lawn within the site, and within that space, the window opens to an external yard in the center of the site so that the children’s small movements and actions can be observed from anywhere in the building.

I hope it becomes a place where you can feel the space and nature that you cannot feel in the city. I hope that it will be a good memory for the three sisters in the gleaming house.
