Wiirae C house
공간으로 짜여진 주택
위례 C주택은 아파트와 집장사의 주택에 익숙한 사람들에게는 매우 새로운 주택이다. 주택 내부공간과 외부공간, 여러 다양한 공간이 짜 맞춰진 집이다. 1층의 거실과 지하층의 다목적룸은 높이가 1.5개 층이다. 3개의 외부 중정 중 3개 층으로 뚫려 있는 곳도 있고, 지붕이 있는 중정도 있고, 하늘로 열려 있는 중정도 있다. 이들 실내와 실외공간들이 서로 엮여져 있을뿐 아니라 다른 공간 들과도 상호 작용을 한다. 밖에서 보면 네모박스의 형태이지만 그 속에는 많은 공간들이 짜 맞춰 있는 디자인이다. 사진과 도면으로 보는 것이 아닌 머리로 생각하며 보아야 어떤 집인지 알 수 있다.
대지는 위례신도시의 단독주택 블록에 위치한다. 건축주 부부, 자녀들을 위해 설계된 주택이다. 건축주의 요구는 ‘높은 층고의 지하 다목적 룸’과 ‘높은 천장 의 거실’, ‘실내 주차장’ 등이었다. 대지의 레벨이 서측의 전면도로보다 1개층 정도 위에 위치하기 때문에 도로에서 건물로 진입하기 위해서는 지하층을 통 해 진입해야 하므로, 지하 1층, 지상 2층으로 집의 규모가 정해졌다. 대지가 정 사각형으로 정남향이었으므로 정남향으로 건물이 배치됐다. 가급적 외부공간 을 많이 확보하기 위하여 건물을 북측과 서측에 접하도록 했다. 남쪽의 공간과 건물의 진입은 도로가 있는 서측에서 이루어진다. 주공간(침실, 식당, 거실)을 모두 남측에 면하게 하기 위하여, 건물의 남측, 서측, 북측에 3개의 중정을 만 들었다. 중정을 통하여 모든 공간이 남쪽에 면할 수 있게 된다. 보조공간(화장 실, 샤워실, 세면실, 현관 등)은 북측으로 배치했다. 3개의 중정은 환기뿐 아니 라, 빛이 내부까지 유입되도록 하고, 하늘을 볼 수 있는 역할도 한다.
외부에서 보이는 입면은 최대한 단순하게 계획됐다. 흰색 친환경코팅 페인트 와 유리를 주로 사용했고, 도로측에서 보이는 서측면에는 합성목재를 적용했 다. 도로측에서 보이는 서측 입면이 건물의 주요한 인상을 주도록 디자인했다. 지하층에는 신발장 공간, 다목적 홀(체력 단련/AV), 실내 주차장을 계획했다. 1층은 거실과 손님방, 1.5층은 식당, 주방, 세탁실, 2층은 침실들이 있다. 지하 층 다목적 홀과 거실은 1.5개층으로 천장을 높게 했다. 1.5개층의 거실은 1개 층 높이의 식당·주방과 공간적으로 연결이 된다.

A house woven with spaces
Wirye C House is a very new home for those who are accustomed t o the housing of apartment and housing business. It is a house comprised of indoor and outdoor spaces and a variety of spaces. The living room on the first floor and the multi-purpose room in the basement are 1.5 floors high. There are 3 outdoor courtyards: one has open three floors, another has a roof, and the other is open t o the sky. These indoor and outdoor spaces are intertwined and interact with other spaces as well. When seen from the outside, it looks like a box shape, but many spaces are designed to fit together in it. You can notice what kind of house it is when you look atit,thinking with your head, not a picture and a drawing.
The sit e is located in a block of single-family houses in Wirye New Town. It is a house designed for the client couple and their children. The client's requests wer e 'high-rise underground multipurpose room', 'highceiling living room' and 'indoor parking lot'. Because the level of the site is one level higher than the front road on the west side, it needs t o enter through the basement in order t o enter the building from the road, so a two-floor house with a basement was planned. Because the sit e was square with a full south aspect, a building was designed t o face south. In order t o secure as much external space as possible, the building was close t o the north side and the west side. The south space and the entry into the building take place on the west side of the road. To make the main spaces (bedroom, dining room, living room) all facing the south, three courtyards were made on the south side, west side and north side of the building. Through the courtyards, all the space will be able t o face the south. Auxiliary spaces (toilet, shower room, washroom, entrance hall, etc.) were arranged t o the north side. The three courtyards serv e not only to ventilate, but also to allow lightto enterthe interior and to see the sky. The elevation seen from the exterior was designed as simple as possible. White environmentally-friendly paint and glass were mainly used, and synthetic wood on the west side of the road was applied. The western side seen from the roadside was designed t o giv e a major impression of the building. In the basement, a shoe closet space, a multipurpose hall (fitness training/AV) and a n indoor parking lot were planned. The first floor has a living room and a guestroom,the 1.5 floor has a dining room, a kitchen and a laundry room, and the second floor has bedrooms. The basement multipurpose hall and the living room were raised t o 1.5 floors and the ceiling was raised. The living room of 1.5 floors is connected spatially to the dining room/kitchen which is one story high.
The biggest feature of this house is that it has three courtyards. One is open t o the basement and the first and second floors, and the other two were designed t o serv e as terraces on the first and second floors. Because of the three courts, indoor and outdoor spaces can communicate with each other. The interior was also planned t o be simple. Interior finishes were unified with birch plywood and ivory eco-friendly paint. The flooring material is the same color as the birch plywood. It also applies t o interior birch doors and furniture. The birch used for the built-in furniture was also the same material, and all the birch surface paint was finished with eco-friendly oil. For the hinges and rails used inside furniture, we pre-designated the high-end products that can be used for a long time. The table and sink wer e made of stainless steel, and the living room shelf was made of concrete. W e minimized typical downlights of all bedrooms and installed long and large indirect lighting that penetrates the entire room in order to make a life comfortable, using only indirect lighting normally. In addition, all the lights used inside the house have a warm atmosphere.
