Twin House

대상지는 김포 신도시 장기동 단독주택 주거지역에 위치하고 있다. 트윈 하우스는 한 사이트에 두 가족을 위해 설계되었지만 외관상으로는 한 건물처럼 보이도록 설계하였다. ‘둘’이 아닌 ‘하나 더하기 하나’의 더 큰 ‘결합’과 ‘통합’된 이미지를 만들려고 노력했다. ‘결합’은 시각적 경계와 매스를 표현하고, ‘통합’은 ‘하나와 다른 하나’를 모아 더 큰 건축적 공감을 불러일으킬 수 있도록 계획하였다. 각자의 삶을 영위하는 독립된 두 가족의 관계를 건축적 매스, 구조, 외벽으로 표현하고, 한 마당을 공유함으로써 형성되는 사회적 관계를 상호작용을 통해 더 큰 상상력을 발휘할 수 있는 공간으로 계획하였다.
이를 통해 각기 다른 "하나"가 모여 더 큰 "우리"가  될 수 있는 건축적 커뮤니티 구성을 제안하고자 하였다.

The target site is located in the residential area of ​​a detached house in Janggi-dong, Gimpo New Town. The twin house was designed for two families on one site, but in appearance it was designed to look like one building. It tried to create a larger "combination" and "integration" image of "one plus one" rather than "two". "Combination" expresses visual boundaries and mass, and "integration" is planned to bring together "one and the other" to evoke a greater architectural sympathy. The relationship between two independent families leading their own lives is expressed through architectural mass, structure, and exterior walls, and the social relationship formed by sharing one yard is planned as a space where one can exercise greater imagination through interaction.
