엘리스테이는 정읍시와 한국관광공사(KTO)가 공동 개발 중인 내장산(Mt. Naejang) 리조트 지구단위계획구역 내에 조성된 부지에 건립됐다. 대지 인근에는 내장산 골프리조트와 용산저수지가 있다. 클라이언트는 산자락에 6,621제곱미터의 대지를 매입하고 내장산 국립공원과 연계한 카페와 숙박시설을 의뢰했다. 

단지 배치 
본동과 A, B, C동은 북사면 대지 조건과 단지 조망을 고려해 공용 마당을 중심으로 분할 배치했다. 공용 마당은 도로에서 +3.8미터 레벨에 조성하여 수영장과 공연 프로그램이 연동되도록 계획했다.

부대시설 
지하 1층 지원시설과 접객 공간은 상부 보이드 된 스탠드를 이용하여 1층 카페와 연계하고 환대 공간(리셉션과 카페)의 기능이 상호 보완할 수 있도록 했다. 1층 카페의 외부 공간에는 공용 수영장과 공연장, 공용 마당을 디자인해 숙박객과 카페 이용객의 편의를 통합했다. 본동 옥상에는 숙박객 전용 수영장을 설치해 내장산의 계절적 변화를 즐길 수 있도록 했다. 

본동 
숙박객들의 편의를 도모해 도로면에 인접하게 본동을 배치했고, 동측 골프리조트로 시야를 유도하여 주·야간의 골프장 환경을 주요한 조망점으로 삼았다. 각층은 2개의 유닛을 엇갈리게 조합하고, 캔틸레버 발코니를 이용해 개별 유닛의 프라이버시 확보와 조형적 변화를 꾀했다. 

A동과 B·C동 
전면 공연장 상부에는 인공 언덕을 조성해 도로와 단지 내부 간 시각적 충돌을 피하고 내장산 전경을 집중 조망할 수 있도록 했다. 각각의 유닛은 경사지임을 감안해 스킵 플로어(skip floor) 단면으로 디자인했고, 그로 인해 발생한 민감한 높이차를 이용하여 개인 수영장과 툇마루(침상)를 디자인했다.

Ellstay is located within the Mt. Naejang Resort Development Zone, a joint project between Jeongeup City and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). The site, spanning 6,621 square meters, is near the Naejangsan Golf Resort and Yongsan Reservoir. The client purchased the land at the foothills and requested the development of a café and accommodation facilities, integrated with Naejangsan National Park. 

Site Layout
The main building, along with A, B, and C buildings, were arranged around a shared courtyard, considering both the northern slope terrain and the overall views of the resort. The shared courtyard was elevated to +3.8 meters from the road level, designed to integrate with the swimming pool and allow for performance programs. 

Auxiliary Facilities
The basement level, which houses support facilities and guest reception areas, is connected to the first-floor café through a voided stand structure, ensuring that the reception and café spaces function complementarily. Outdoor spaces around the café on the first floor were designed to include a communal swimming pool, performance area, and the shared courtyard, providing integrated convenience for both hotel guests and café visitors. A rooftop swimming pool was reserved for hotel guests, offering views of the seasonal changes in Naejangsan. 

Building Layout
To enhance guest convenience, the main building was positioned adjacent to the road, with sightlines directed toward the eastern golf resort, ensuring that the golf course serves as a focal point both day and night. Each floor consists of two staggered units, with cantilevered balconies used to ensure privacy between units while also creating dynamic architectural forms. 

A, B, and C Buildings
An artificial hill was created above the front performance area of Buildings A, B, and C, to prevent visual disruption between the road and the resort and to maximize views of Naejangsan. Each unit was designed with a skip-floor sectional layout to accommodate the sloped terrain. The resulting height differences were creatively used to design private pools and elevated platforms (maru) for relaxation.
