온 가족이 만드는 중정형 단독주택 : 고연옥

고연옥은 화성시 동탄의 호수공원 인근에 위치한 단독주택이다. 전면으로는 거대한 호수공원이 있어 자연과 가까운 최적의 생활권을 제공하지만 다른 주택들과의 거리가 필요했고, 후면으로는 녹지를 사이에 두고 경부고속도로가 있어 혹시 모를 소음에 대비해야 했다. 필지들이 연달에 붙어있는 여타 택지지구와 동일하게 인접 주택들 사이에서 프라이버시와 개방감이라는 상충되는 특성을 동시에 만족시켜야 했기에, 도로에 접하는 부분의 프라이버시를 확보하는 중정형 배치를 채택하고 건축주의 요구사항에 부합하도록 세부 공간들을 계획해나갔다. 

깊이 방향으로 긴 장방형 대지는 정면에서 건물의 규모를 파악하기 힘들게 하는 반면, 그 안에서 다양한 내부 공간을 만들어낸다. 프라이버시를 확보하기 위해 고측창이 있는 거실과 실내 차고를 도로에 면하도록 하였으며 주택의 중앙에 중정을 기준으로 주요 공용공간들과 방들을 배치하였다. 그리고 다시 맞은편 고속도로로부터 소음을 차단하기 위해 계단과 화장실, 팬트리 등의 서비스 공간을 배치하였다. 

현관에 들어서면 마주하는 스케일감을 벗어난 높은 층고의 거실과 통창을 통해 유입되는 중정은 외관과 대비되는 개방감을 준다. 중정은 온 가족이 향유하는 공간이다. 1층과 2층의 모든 공간은 중정을 향하며, 큰 창을 통해 남향의 햇살과 변화하는 자연을 조망할 수 있다. 차고 상부에 배치된 2층 베란다는 두 자녀의 놀이터다. 베란다를 아우르는 외벽은 외부의 시선을 차단함과 동시에 시선을 하늘로 향하게 한다.

A single-family house built by the whole family: Go Yeon-ok

 

Go Yeon-ok is a detached house located near Lake Park in Dongtan, Hwaseong-si. There is a huge lake park on the front, providing an optimal living area close to nature, but it needed a distance from other houses, and on the back, there is Gyeongbu Expressway with green areas in between, so we had to prepare for possible noise. Since lots had to satisfy the conflicting characteristics of privacy and openness among neighboring houses at the same time as other residential districts attached to them in a row, they adopted a courtyard layout to secure the privacy of the road and planned detailed spaces to meet the requirements of the builder.

The rectangular land elongated in the depth direction makes it difficult to grasp the size of the building from the front, while creating various internal spaces within it. In order to secure privacy, the living room and indoor garage with a high side window were facing the road, and major public spaces and rooms were placed in the center of the house based on the center. And then service spaces such as stairs, toilets, and pantry were placed to block noise from the opposite highway.

Entering the entrance, the high-rise living room, which is beyond the sense of scale facing it, and the middle that flows through the hall window give a sense of openness that contrasts with the appearance. Courtyard is a space enjoyed by the whole family. All spaces on the first and second floors face courtyard, and you can see the sunlight facing south and changing nature through a large window. The veranda on the second floor, located at the top of the garage, is a playground for two children. The outer wall covering the veranda blocks the external gaze and simultaneously directs the gaze to the sky.
