본 프로젝트는 금호새마을금고사옥으로써 작은도로에 면해있는 근린생활시설의 성격을 갖는다.주변의 4~5층규모의 저층건물들속에 끼어들어가는 상황이라서 심플하되 강한이미지를 가져서 제2금융권의사옥으로서 상징성을 갖는것이 주요한 목표였다.
이러한 목표하에 두가지의 아이디어로 설계를 했다.
첫째는 경사진 대지의 레벨차이와 세면에 접해진 도로를 활용하는것이다.
전면주도로에 접한 지하1층에 새마을금고의 주출입구를 보행자의 출입으로하고, 차량은 한층더 올라가서주차하고 임대자의 주요 이용층이 되었다.
둘째는 규칙적인 프레임을 가지되 그 프레임이 조금씩 다른 형태의 패턴을 가진 프레임이되고, 프레임속의 면은 내부 프로그램과 공간구조에 맞게 대응하게 한다는 디자인전략이었다.
이렇게 하여 주변건물과 차별화된 이미지를 가지도록 제안했다.

This project is the Geumho Saemaeul Geumgo Building, a neighborhood living facility facing a narrow road. As the building is inserted among surrounding low-rise buildings of four to five stories, the main goal was to create a simple yet strong image, giving it a clear symbolic presence as a building for a secondary financial institution.

Based on this goal, the design was developed around two main ideas.
The first was to make use of the level difference of the sloping site and the fact that the site faces roads on three sides. On the basement level facing the main front road, the main entrance to Saemaeul Geumgo was planned for pedestrian access. Vehicles enter from one level above, where parking is provided, which also becomes the main access level for tenants.

The second idea was a façade strategy based on a regular frame system. While the building maintains a consistent frame, each frame is given a slightly different pattern, and the surfaces within the frames respond to the internal program and spatial structure.

Through this approach, the building was designed to have a clearly distinctive image from the surrounding buildings.
