Gyeongju Y building

건물은 경주의 신도시택지 개발지역인 용황지구에 위치한다. 대지는 경사가 거의 없는 일반주거지역에 있다. 주요 용도는 1층에 베이커리 카페, 2층과 3층은 임대용도이다. 건물 규모는 연면적 594제곱미터, 지하는 없고, 지상 4층의 건물이다. 새롭게 조성된 택지 지구의 입구에 가까운 곳에 위치하므로, 랜드마크적인 이미지가 필요했다. 최소로 적정화된 건축비로 최대한 근사한 건물을 짓는 목표가 이 건물에도 그대로 적용됐다. ‘적합한 시설의 배치’, ‘편리한 사용’, ‘근사한 내외관’, ‘효율적인 유지관리’, ‘공사비 절 감’, ‘수납공간의 극대화’, ‘방범관리의 용이성’ 등이 건축주의 주요 요구사항이었다. 하 나의 건물이 잘 지어지기까지는 많은 수고가 필요하다. 조금이라도 다르게, 조금이라도 더 근사하게 만들기 위해서는 그보다 더 많은 노력이 필요한 법이다. 그래서 한 건물이 지어지는 데까지 많은 우여곡절이 생기게 되는 것 같다. 서울에서 멀리 떨어진 곳을 이 십여 차례 방문하여, 많은 현장회의와 그 결과로 발생한 수많은 개선부분, 수정사항들 이 있었다. 이에 대해 성심성의껏 공사를 진행하여 마무리해 주신, 건축시공사인 홍익 건설에 깊은 감사를 드린다.

위치 경주 Y빌딩은 경주의 용황동 택지지구에 위치한다. 건물의 동측에는 넓은 도로가 있고, 나머지 부분은 근생시설이 들어서고 있다. 대지와 가까운 곳에 대규모 아파트 단 지 등이 있어서 향후 경주의 새로운 도심이 되는 곳이다.

배치 대지는 동향이었으므로 주변은 근생시설이 있어서 동향으로 건물이 배치됐다. 사 다리꼴의 형태였으므로 건물 모서리 부분은 주차장으로 계획했다. 도로 측으로 주진입 구를 만들었다.

평면 동측 전면 도로 쪽으로 만든 주출입구의 진입공간을 건물의 내부까지 끌어 들여서, 계단과 엘리베이터, 상부 보이드 공간을 입체적으로 구성했다. 이 공간으로 모든 공간을 연결하도록 의도하여 방문자로 하여금 주출입공간의 극적인 느낌을 가질 수 있도록 계 획했다. 이 공간은 건물의 환기뿐 아니라, 빛이 내부까지 유입되도록 하는 역할도 한다.

입면 외부에서 보는 입면은 최대한 단순하게 계획됐다. 동측과 북측은 외부 쪽으로 창 문을 만들고, 서측과 남측은 주변의 건물로 막혀 있어서, 이에 따라 창문과 오픈부분을 계획했다. 하나의 색상만을 사용하여, 단순함이 주는 힘을 극대화하려고 했다.

단면 구조적인 고민이 많았던 건물이었다. 실내공간에 기둥을 만들지 않은 점, 가벽의 오픈을 1층부터 4층까지 만든 것, 수평으로 긴 창문 등 겉보기로는 단순한 건물이지만, 이 건물이 만들어지기까지는 매우 많은 구조적인 연구와 검토가 필요했다.

인테리어 인테리어는 임대용 건물이므로 가장 기본마감까지만 설계했다. 1층 베이커 리 카페의 경우, 체인점이기 때문에 프랜차이즈 회사의 디자인에 따라 시공됐다. 화장 실과 탕비실, 4층 팬트하우스는 가장 단순하게 계획했다.

조명 일반적인 다운라이트를 최소로 줄이고, h명 트랙을 이용한 조명과 간접조명, 높이 2.7미터의 스탠드 조명을 사용했다. 효율적인 유지관리를 위하여, 색상이 좋은 LED 조 명을 사용하였고, 건물 내부에 사용되는 모든 조명은 따뜻한 분위기의 느낌을 갖도록 고려됐다.

The building is located in Yonghwang District, Gyeongju's New Town Residential Development Area. The site is in a typicalresidential area with little slope. This building is mainly constructed for bakery café on the first floor and for rent purposes on the second and third floors. The building has a gross floor area of 594m². It has 4 floors above ground without basement. Because it is located close t o the entrance of the newly constructed residential district, a landmark image was needed. The goal of constructing a superb building at a minimal cost has been applied to this building as well. The client’s main requirements included 'proper layout of facilities', 'convenient use', 'nice interior and exterior', 'effectiv e maintenance', 'reduction of construction costs', 'maximization of storage space', and 'ease of crime prevention management'. Until a building is constructed well, a lot of effort is needed. It takes more effort t o make it a bit different and nicer. So it seems that there are many twists and turns in constructing a building. W e visited the sit e very farfrom Seoul 2 0 times, and there were many improvements and corrections as a result of lots of field meetings. W e would like t o express our sincere appreciation to a construction company Hongik Construction.

Location Gyeongju Y Building is located in Gyeongju’s Yonghwangdong Residential District. On the east side of the building, there is a wide road, and the rest sides hav e neighborhood facilities. There is a large apartment complex close to the site, which is the ne w town of Gyeongju.

Layout Since the sit e faced the west with neighborhood facilities in the surrounding area, the building was placed t o the west. Because it was a trapezoidal shape, the corner of the building was planned as a parking lot. We made the main entrance to the roadside.

Plan The entry space of the main entrance made toward the east frontal road was drawn int o the inside of the building, and the stairs, the elevator, and the upper void space were formed i n three dimensions. W e intend t o connect all the spaces t o this space, so that visitors can hav e a dramatic feeling of main entrance space. In addition t o the ventilation of the building, this space also serves to allow light to enterthe interior.

Elevation The elevation seen form the exterior was designed as simple as possible. Windows were installed on the east side and the north side to the outside. Given that the west side and the south side were blocked with the surrounding buildings, windows and open parts were designed. Using only one color, we tried to maximize the power of simplicity.

Section For this building, we considered its structur e a lot. It is a seemingly simple building with no pillars in the interior space, an open fake wall from the 1st t o 4th floors, and a horizontally long window, but until the building was constructed, there was a lot of structural research and examination.

Interior Since it is a rental building, the interior was designed up t o the most basic finishing. On the first floor, a franchise bakery cafe was built according t o the design of the franchise company. Toilets, pantries and the 4th floor penthouse were designed in the simplest way.

Light We minimized typical downlights and used h track-based lighting, indirect lighting and stand lighting with a height o f 2.7m. For efficient maintenance, we used LED lights with good colors, and all the lights used inside the building were considered to have a warm atmosphere.
